Missing Friends

So...even though I'm truly in a better place now than I ever have been since moving to Winston, I've decided that I STILL miss my friends. I guess I'll always feel that way, since my friends in Wilmington really were such good friends. I miss being able to just "pop-in" and say hi, or go for a walk, or just get a hug. Josh and Grant are great...don't get me wrong. But there's nothing that can take the place of a girlfriend.

I think I'm in need of some major retail therapy with my best therapist Amy.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well...hands down this year's birthday was eight thousand times better than last year. Recap for those who don't know: Josh forgot about me.

So this year...my class actually surprised me with balloons, doughnuts, cards, a tiarra and a very nice gift to a spa! Wow~! I've never had a birthday like that before. Amazing! I was overwhelmed with joy--not because of the gifts, but because of their kindness and thoughtfulness.

Josh did much better this year and remembered! He had a nice card and gift waiting for me when I got home from school (a new hot pink iPod shuffle). We also went out for a nice dinner at Paul's Fine Italian restaurant. Yum.

My family gave me some nice things as well--not that it's all about gifts.

I took some time to reflect on the year and decided I was in such a better place personally. I have grown so much this year...and while I resisted this move initially, I think I could actually see myself living here long term.

Happy Birthday to Me.

10 Year Reunion!

Well, I couldn't believe I was old enough...but I was! It was time for my 10 year high school reunion! I somehow got put in charge of planning the whole thing! We met at a restaurant called Kelsey's and had a great dinner. The disappointing thing was that there were only 22 of us. I tried as hard as I knew how to contact everyone...but would you believe there were people who didn't even call me back? Ugh. It was great seeing everyone (those who came anyway) and interesting to hear what everyone's been up to. It's amazing how many things change in ten years. We enjoyed looking through a yearbook from our senior year (thanks to Amber) and we laughed hard at some of our old pictures! After dinner, we went over to Hannah's on Main Street (a local Irish pub) where we met up with some others who didn't make it to dinner. We're already working on planning a 15 year reunion...but I'm taking a back seat to this one (at least that's what I'm saying now!).

Here's a picture of us at Kelsey's...
