What is up with naptime?

Landon is usually a great napper! But the past three days have been completely wonky! It's taken him a really long time to actually fall asleep and then once he's there, it's not for long! He hasn't taken a regular nap longer than 45 minutes. It's really throwing me for a loop. I need that quiet time for myself to get things done that can't be done while he's awake: dishes, email, blogs, shower, house cleaning (not that I do it everyday!), laundry, and...oh, resting! :) I'm going to try making sure he's really full shortly before putting him down...maybe he's going through a growth spurt. Maybe he's just overly curious and/or stimulated...

I hope it's just a phase he's going through...we'll see! Here's hoping!

Cloth Diapering...an update!

A while back, when I was blogging on my other website, I mentioned that I was going to try cloth diapering. I received lots of feedback about it--good and bad! Most everyone was positive about me trying it (at least on the outside anyway!). So here's an update!

Armed and Ready...and for What?

Landon hasn't slept through the night consecutively since, well...ever (there may have been a few nights of 8 hr stretches randomly sprinkled in there at around month 3 or 4). It's been a total nigthmare. I kept thinking things were supposed to get better in the sleep department...but they got seemingly worse! So...

6 month update

We went to your 6 month well-baby visit this morning. Here's the stats from your pediatrician, Dr. Moore:

Dear Landon

Dear Landon,

I'm going to start writing you little notes (hopefully on a monthly basis) so I can one day share with you all the day-to-day "stuff" that happens when we're together! I'm sorry that I haven't done this before now, but you are a very high-needs baby who has kept me busy and exhausted! I'll try to go back and write some post-dated entries if I have time...

Easter Decor

It's taken me a while to upload the pictures from Easter, but I wanted to show off my pretty table arrangements that I stayed up really late working on! :) I am finding that having a little project here and there does wonders for my well-being! Here are a few pictures of some of the table...why I didn't take pictures of the beautiful tulips, I'll never know! Ugh!

Lunch Buddies

Its a beautiful day here in St Pete and I thought I'd let the boys hang out for a few minutes out on the balcony. Grant enjoys hanging out on the porch any chance he gets...even if it means getting eaten for lunch by Landon. Check out the April Web Albums by clicking on View My Gallery at the bottom of the blog for more pics of the two buddies together.

Hooray for Puree!

I am quite proud of myself today. I did not sit around in my pjs all day and do nothing (however, I AM still in my pjs)...but I made lots of baby food today! So far I've made: pears (which turned brown before I could get them frozen, ugh!), sweet potatoes, peaches, butternut squash, avacado, plums and prunes! My freezer is now well-stocked with all kinds of yummy goodies for my ever-growing boy! Hooray for purees!

Cousin Kel

Last Monday, Landon and I drove to TPA to pick up Josh's first cousin Kelley. She was working in Miami and then had some vacation days, so she decided to spend them with us! It was such an awesome visit for us. Kelley is a professionsal nanny and let me tell you...she's good, really good. Landon adored her and was sad to see her go. I'm pretty sure when he woke me up in the middle of the night that night, he was asking for her! :)

Kelley and I got to spend a lot of time together hanging out in St. Petersburg. We went on walks by the water, site-seeing downtown, shopping at International, and got pedicures! Landon loved having the extra attention, and I loved having the extra help! She was such a blessing...I even got to go get my hair done! It was so relaxing and rejuvenating. I'm not sure if Kelley had more fun or if I did! I think it was more of a vacation for me!

Sitting Up

Well...it's amazing. Landon is rapidly approaching 6 months old! I can't believe it. Where did the time go? And why didn't it feel this fast when I was up all night listening to a crying baby? Sigh.

Landon has managed to reach a new milestone this week: sitting up! He was almost there a couple of times last week, but yesterday he sat up for nearly 6 minutes...unsupported! What an awesome thing to watch. He looks so big sitting up. Like he should just take off crawling or something. Uh-oh...that's next, right! Yikes! I think it won't be long before we need to investe in some serious baby gates. Oh boy...

Easter Buddies

For Easter this year we invited our friends, Sally and Bennett over for a special lunch. They have a little boy, Mac, who is two months younger than Landon. We had a lovely time celebrating Easter together with lots of yummy traditional food: ham, potatoes, beans, corn, yeast rolls and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Mmmm, mmmm, good! The best part of the day, however, was not the food...but the company. Sally and Bennett are living away from family too...so we have a lot in common that way. Sally and I are both stay-at-home moms and our hubbies are both work-a-holics! Our little boys are also "high-needs" at times so we can relate well to each other! I am thankful for the friendships that God has brought into our lives and excited about keeping up with this family for many more holidays to come! Here are a couple of pictures of the boys together. I think Landon didn't want Mac telling on him for something...ha!

Perhaps we don't need to worry about how much he's eating anymore...
